Wow. I obviously didn't read the Neighborly News thread in the old forum enough. I thought Rob and Kez were planning on jumping ship and heading to the islands?

Rob, you and Kez are young enough to hit the road and take day labor if need be...or live off the royalties of your books...until you find your home. I know that you'd be welcome in Wimberley for a month or more...just help out. See if you like those places.

Not lately, Zinnia. -35°F, an inch of ice on the tree branches and power lines, thousands without power for weeks. I had designs of moving up there because of the lower cost of land. Because of the temperature extremes, I am now thinking more along the lines of N. Carolina. Besides, I don't feel like wrestling with cordwood anymore. Coal maybe... Solar in the winter at that latitude would be iffy. I think the sun only gets 30-33° above the horizon during winter. Two seasons: Winter and Blackfly/construction season. I hear they like the snow up there though, as it fills in the potholes...
