I'm pretty sure you can read my comments and opinion about it. If not, I KNOW you can imagine :/

It's in a doctor's office somewhere in East Texas. I've said I'll buy lunch for anyone who can tell me where so I can pay them a little visit. There's so much wrong with it it's almost incomprehensible.
A) there's no such thing as "Obamacare insurance"

B) the healthcare.gov site merely gives you choices from already existing PRIVATE insurance companies to choose your new insurance from

therefore

C) when you present your card at the doctor's it will say Blue Cross or Aetna-  there is NO WAY for them to know where and how you got your insurance from. No Way.

Alec said, "Mom? What're you going to do? You're not going to change their minds if that's what they think". I said no I can't. But I CAN calmly inform them that they are full of shit and have no idea what they're talking about. And if even ONE person in the waiting room begins to question, actually goes to the site, and has ONE friend or family member who now has no insurance because of a pre-existing condition and will DIE because their family can't sell enough damn cupcakes to buy chemo, JUST ONE gets insurance...it'll be worth the cost of lunch and gas.

The hilarious thing is even IF the doctor put it there, he's the LEAST capable person to make a call on 'Obamacare'. Ask a doctor, ANY doctor ANYwhere "What's the cost of your office visit?" "What insurance to you currently take?" "What's the cost of (anything they do)?"

THEY DON'T KNOW. The people in the office do.

This sign in just more fear-mongering and shit like this WILL kill people.

It's bad enough we are forced to watch F#$%ing FAUX News in the waiting rooms.

This is too much.

I think I'd send the picture and any info you have to HHS - it is illegal to discriminate. And I suspect they have no problem accepting Medicare or Medicaid. You can't fix stupid but we need to figure out to stop it from breeding. Take a deep breath girl, soon there will be enough Hispanic voters. Combine that with the grim reaper and Texas will be able to relegate the past 20 years to the historical "what not to do" place.

John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Ed Schlutz, and/or Rachel Maddow might be interested AND increase the odds of finding said "professional" office.

IF we ever moved to the Austin area- it'd be to Wimberly. They got trees and water and hills and stuff. Everywhere else is really ugly- don't believe the "the Hill Country is SO PRETTY" stuff...

I'm in contact with a realtor from Wimberly. Looking for some raw ground out beyond the grid. One of my concerns is building codes. I want to do a sandbag, stucco dwelling if and when we jump. I just think there is a lot more of "The Man" in the lower 48 than there is up here. I don't like dealing with him, I tend to get pissed off a lot.

Rob - you all might look into CA (northern) or NM where alternative building isn't still a taboo subject.

Gracie - let them have it!

Touring around on G.E.  You know I get a good vibe. It's very different country. Seems dry and brown, but also has good energy from the places I've seen.  Ausitn is huge. I think we most deffinately will be visitng.

I've checked out Northern C.A. the same way and parts of New Mexico. Thus our plan to tour around for a few years and see what's, what. If it is meant to be doors will open.

The folks that own land in the Burnett Ranches have access to a private water park...the spring flows even in the worst drought.  I have a friend who organically gardens on 10 acres there...a lot of musicians/artists/gardeners/old hippie types.  Check this link on facebook:

Here's a pic of my friend in the water at the park which is along the Blanco River

You have to remember that desirable land is in very short supply. That is the reason we bought an existing house with acreage versus buying acreage and building. You have to remember water is a precious commodity in TX. The first house we bought was not much to look at. But at the time, for the price of  most raw acreage (we're talking land that had been a cornfield the year before), we got a house in which we could live and a few acres.

Yep. Wimberly is about the prettiest area down there- there's even cypress trees along the river, meaning it's a REAL river- not something that is dry eleven months out of the year and frog-choking dangerous for a few weeks.

The alternative is to buy land where it's affordable and pretty (like East Texas) and drive to civilization when you need to.
