"..I think our greatest folly will be to cling to our illusive 'number one' status.." The United Kingdom dealt with it better than we (USA) are dealing with it. No "empire" has lasted forever. But, imperfect as the USA is/was as the "leader" of the world, I fear for future generations who will experience a world lead by China. But I won't have to worry about it. I will be dead by then. The only remnant of me will be my picture on the wall @ Crackerbarrel. or maybe Chick-fil-A Max

"..(hey, I edited on this forum).." I have been editing all day. but apparently the option to edit goes away after the post has been up for 15 minutes or so. Kinda strange, but again this forum will be going bye bye on the 31st, so I am not going to get too wrapped up in the technicals. I see where the management of the previous forum has started to dismantle it. Still people posting over there, although i am not sure why. Might as well come over here. Max

I still think Millenials are going to stop the insanity (apology to Susan Powter or whateve her name). Face it - those who support the tea party and/or those trying to kill the New Deal (aka Koch bros) are a shrinkng, dying minority. While some see Detroit as a dying city, I see it as the future. True Libertarians, savvy buyers of houses to become homes. Those who are not totally driven by the almight dollar but a work/life balance. The US of "old" is gone - we'll be a blend. The youth will prevail, with the help of those-not-so-young. Some states will balk but time is *not* on their side.

Even 'if'' your future is the real future (and I really hope it is), the old guard will not go down without a fight...and they fight dirty.
