We will be looking into train fare.  Don't know if we will make it or not but we will try to swing it.

I'm planning dinner for tonite...beyond that I haven't a clue...depends on so many factors.

Would love to meet folks and see your place, Sheri...that's a fact.  We have to get out to AZ late March or so to visit family which is dwindling away and getting older...

Sheri, is the date an absolute yet, or possibly still in flux?

Barring anyone's health screwing with us (and since we're all old now, it could be any one of us...) the dates are in cement.

Cool.

I'll start checking airfares and see about how much money to save up. Right now things are tight, but it would probably cost as much to drive, plus it'll be nice to get a longer actual visit.

Jen-nay, if I can contribute to your airfare..  I will.  I was disappointed I couldn't meet you at Neil's this past fall and looking forward to meeting you... and not in a creepy way.  :)

I was thinking of driving and picking up you and whomever else we find *cough*Col*cough* along the way but gas is just too damn expensive.  I could buy two plane tickets and still save money.

$311 BOS > TYR

$100 more if I fly out of the airport near my apartment which I may just do.  We'll see on Friday, going to try to "name my own price" as I've done before with success.

For the next 2 years, those dates are not going to work for me BUT I am hoping that it is still going on after that and I can come! Those dates are at the same time as a work obligation and I am head honcho this year and next so have to be there.

Again.... if anyone needs a lift that is flying in, training in or needs a stopping point driving through...I'm around. Don't be shy.

I don't know if I can come up with airfare, we are really squeezing right now. Is there anybody passing through KY that I might hitch a ride with? If you pass within 75-100 miles, I could meet you enroute. I'm just off I-65, about 30 mi. south of Elizabethtown, KY, 60mi. north of Bowling Green.

I'll try and save airfare, but if I can't, maybe there's an alternative. Tobit, I appreciate the offer, but I'm very uncomfortable taking money from people for this sort of thing. Always have been. So, thank you, but no.

I think it will be years before we fly again...... The whole modern airplane trip has become more of a survival event than a pleasant travel experience. Between TSA, Cramped, CRAMPED!! friggin seating, delays, crowds, high costs etc. It just isn't worth it. Not to mention traveling in a tin tube 35,000 feet in the air doing 600 MPH with God only knows at the controlls....    This last trip pretty much sealed my opinion or desire to ever do that again.

If and when we get to East Texas it will be as God intended, by camper truck, sitting our sore asses on pillows by back road.

I'm still debating driving and KY wouldn't be that much of a detour.  I'd love to stop by and visit my land if only for a few hours.

Been sorta thinking about driving to Denver for the celebrations April 20, east Texas isn't too far off my route. Is everyone welcome? with well behaved dogs?

If you are on this forum, you are welcome.  Your dogs should be fine as well.

It DID sound like more than one dog, sorry 'bout that. I only got the one. And I think mom should pass judgement on his attending, no offense Tobit.
