66.2 degreees & sunny...

I'm glad a branch of my family decided to stay after the Gold Rush of 1849...

It was SO nice at the beach at Santa Cruz that it made the SF Bay Area tv news...

Unusually warm but welcome

Got an email from Al, he will check in in the New year!

Good to see Peanut again but I shudder to think what you went through to get those warmers on. I try it on a toddler and end up flat on my a**!

ExP, everything I do at the Yak Outback requires some sort of pennance on my part. Sometimes though, it is just nasal pennance.

Folsom Lake is so low, that the town of Mormom Island, one of the very first Gold Rush towns, has reappeared. The valley it sits in was flooded in the 1950's to create Folsom Lake...

Ach!  I did not log on in time to catch the pic above on the old forum.  We had a great time with Matt and his extraordinarily lovely wife!  Good peeps, just as I had thought they would be. Matt is exactly the person we all know and love on the forum.

Headed north tomorrow morning, barring adverse weather, which seems already to have arrived. LOL  Fingers crossed. This place is way too crowded for us!  But my gosh, it was fun to be with family for a week.  Robbie survived, if barely.  He is still mumbling about amazons....... :o

Sword & Shield Museum closes. The collection will be saved, but not the same.
