On the home page beneath your user name is an edit profile option...I just went there and changed my name...beneath the name is where you upload a pic...

Uh, Bruce, did you go to the old site where I posted a screenshot...???  I guess not, otherwise you'd see that there IS NO UPLOAD BUTTON...!!!

LJ, which browser do you use?  I see an upload button.

Meanwhile, Karen has still been busy I guess.. she hasn't been able to setup my server space yet.  Several things bug me about this site but it's free and doing a fine job of keeping us in touch with one another so I can't complain.

I believe you need a URL for your image.  You'd find it where mine says 'remove picture'

if there is a picture there already, even a broken one, you need to click remove picture to get the upload button back.

LJ sent me and email....he's a bit cranky about not finding the upload button (don't understand why) and says he can't delete his account but would like you to delete it,

Please ask Tobit to DELETE my acct at the HS-2 site...

I don't see an option for deleting an acct, and I just don't have time to screw around getting it

That would be Matt's dept.  I have no powers here.

Hang in there LJ.  Things will get better and more compatible with all browsers.  Some regulars can't even access this site at all so consider yourself lucky.  

Sorry guys but why get your knickers in a twist about getting a profile pic up on a temporay site, shurly the content and community is what matters?  I have my issues here also not the least of which is the spell check is not working as you can see but lets give Tobit and Karen time to get the new site up and meanwhile have patience here on the site that Slaeghunder set up!

that just showed up

The last couple of years I haven't really been active on the forum. Some of the people that left over the years I have on my Facebook list as well as a few of the folks still on here. I remember when we arrived on the old site, drawn by an article on pigs and then finding an article by Sheri that went on to become one of her books about Easter chicks, we were drawn into the forum.

I met Neets and some other good friends on a Backgammon site, long gone now. Homestead forum follows to that virtual gravesite in the sky and I'm sure I won't lose the friends I met there. Instead of the bickering I see I just want to thank Neil for the patform he provided that enabled Neets and me to find friends that are true kindred spirits. There were a few frogs along the way, but, hey that's life!

And I liked this new forum a hell of a lot better yesterday when no one was bitching.  CAN the bitching.  This is a new start at a new, easy to use forum. Now, play nice.

Col gave me a call a minute ago and said he's having trouble with his mobile phone (the only interenet device he currently has) and getting on the site.  He did it once, registered, and posted, but now it's telling him he didn't get the CAPCHA right, only he didn't see any CAPCHA.  He's relatively sure it's on his end with his phone browser, it's a new Phone, on Virgin.  I don't even know what browser it would be.

But if anyone has any suggestions about those kinds of problems on a virgin phone, he'd be happy to try them.

In the meantime, he can get on the forum and read the posts, he just can't post.  So he'll be checking in on the conversations and watching for the notification when the new site is ready to go.
