Yep...living off grid can be a pain in the ass, too...as can working for the 'man'...30 below zero F is no thrill, either.  Just sayin', this works well for now.

I appreciate everyone's efforts, but the more we keep moving around, the more people we may lose.

It's a test, George. If you can keep up, you want to stay together badly enough to join our new secret club ;)

I want to grow the forum, not just be a refugee site.

It's a fine refuge for now. I'm just overjoyed that I can stay connected to y'all.

Much thanks to everybody that makes it possible.

You missed my point...don't rush, let folks get a chance to get here...if we change again real soon we may lose folks.  I appreciate what you're doing and that you want to do it right.  You're not wasting your time.  This is a great refuge for now.  I do like to keep things simple...and what you are doing will simplify a forum.  Take your time.

Do we have any graphic artists on the forum who can create a header image for the new forum? I have several ideas.

Final, confirmed, team for the new forum:

Admins: Tobit and MagiAwen

Mods: lunamother (senior mod) with Slaeghunder, AlaskaRob, and Kezzie

Tell me your ideas...

"...While simple, many things are a pain in the ass..."

I can only hope that includes "banning" someone    :)

".....don't rush, let folks get a chance to get here...if we change again real soon we may lose folks..."

I undertand your point.  Too much upheaval over the past (2) days.

But I think it might be best to stick to the plan, which had this here forum going away on Dec 31 and the new, new forum starting.

I know it is confusing to all, but if we keep changing plans, it is going to get even more confusing.

Anyway, that is how I will vote the one vote I have- we stick to the plan that was finalized Friday.

And hope that "lost souls" can find their way home.

If someone  has a way to contact anyone who may not be aware of all that has transpired over the past (3) days,  please them them know.

I understand that the management of the former forum is supposed to send out a notification email to all email addresses of record on the old forum, which should help.

It's the least they can do, in my opinion.

Max, I'd genuinely like to know what I have ever done to harm, discredit or disrespect you in any way. This really seems tacky and beneath who I thought you were.

"...Max, I'd genuinely like to know what I have ever done to harm, discredit or disrespect you in any way. This really seems tacky and beneath who I thought you were...."

And I quote:

"..I just banned Max. What fun! After ten years of being fair and grown-up it really was a nice feeling to just do what I wanted to for a change..."

That seemed tacky as well as petty.

Have a good evening.

I won't have a very good evening, Max, because it upsets me to get into childish little fights.  One of the reasons I chose to abandon the forum.

Of course I didn't ban you from the forum during any of the ten years of it's duration, rather as I was headed out the door myself. I still think it was kind of funny, but apparently this has done you some harm I am unable to appreciate.

So I didn't give everyone enough notice before saying that I was calling it quits?  Notice for what?  During the last several months, the typical daily traffic by members was 30-35 people, maximum, plus 600 visitors, roughly half of whom were robots crawling for the search engines.  This forum now has 32 members, virtually all the same people who made up that daily traffic at the other place.

So what exactly is it that I didn't give any one time to do?  So what's really eating you?
